Every so often, I like to read up on the latest reports of criminal activity in Summerland. Almost anyone who thinks of buying a place here will always ask me about the level of crime in this small town. Just this week, a couple from near Calgary told me they had gone to a horse show or some kind of public event in Red Deer and there was a notice posted on that door regarding “no gang colors allowed”…so this couple wanted to ask me about the crime rates in Summerland…
Now, allow me a little artistic leeway here, because there ARE actual issues here in Summerland…but you have to read this breaking story as posted in the weekly Summerland newspaper today:
Lock glued
On May 3, police were called when a silver metal storage box at Powell Beach had been damaged. Police said someone had put glue into the lock. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Summerland RCMP.
As mentioned, in truth there are crimes here and we are very well serviced by the local RCMP and appreciate their presence in town. And they definitely do more than what that item above indicates!
