After attending the Chamber Annual General Meeting, it is clear that S’land will continue to focus on tourism, lifestyle and attracting young families to “work here, visit here, play here”.
Visit the Chamber website, read the headings and enjoy the scenery pictures…
“WELCOME TO SUMMERLAND, a picturesque town located on the shores of Lake Okanagan in beautiful British Columbia, Canada.
The Summerland Chamber of Economic Development and Tourism invites you to explore our town!”
There are rolling pictures of apples, car shows, apple bins, kids with face paint, a top quality foody restaurant downtown, a beautiful shot of the municipal parkland of Giant’s Head Mountian, and vacant land next to a peaceful shore of Okanagan Lake.
It really is a beautiful looking website that honestly depicts the beauty of our town, our area and some of the activies that residents and visitors can enjoy.
However, it is obvious that none of the rolling pictures pertain to “work here”…and that’s totally fine. Except, that “work here” is a phrase on the same page and “work here” is a fundamental part of what is promoted by the Chamber.
So, what picture(s) should be put on the Chamber site that would honestly depict “work here”?
Thanks for giving this a look
PS If more people worked here, I could sell more real estate.
