22acres zoned for subdivision reduced $639,500 for privacy, space and views…22acres not in ALR!

Slopes of Garnet Valley feature sheet PatrickOKanagan Slopes of Garnet Valley Patrick Murphy 250 486-2529

Summerland is a small town on the shores of Okanagan lake that is truly unique…for starters, it really is a small town!  About 11,000 people, but spread out over a larger geographic area than the nearby City of Penticton!  Larger than Penticton with way fewer people…due to the agricultural heritage of our town!  This town is mostly in the Agricultural Land Reserve, and is forbidden by law against subdivisions!  Not bad!

Makes for a very special little town…especially when you consider it gets more sunshine hours than HAWAII!  And no one knows its here!

Every summer, thousands upon thousands of people flock to destinations like Kelowna (Little Calgary), Penticton and Osoyoos… the Resorts, Hotels and campgrounds get clogged up and traffic snarls and…Summerland sits quietly by like a jewell as traffic scurries past on Highway 97!

It’s a beautiful thing to discover!  Small Okanagan Agricultural Town that DOES NOT HAVE A HIGHWAY AS ITS MAIN STREET!

Hey, we have golf courses, wineries, orchards, high end restaurants, and a  quaint little Main Street where its actually safe to not have to hold a little one’s hand!  People actually STOP their cars when a kid approaches the crosswalk…there isn’t even a TRAFFIC LIGHT on our Main St for heaven’s sake…

Get out here and own this land before someone beats you to it!  Are you kidding me?  This kind of land sells for well over $2million plus in other Okanagan spots!  And this kind of view with privacy and the 22acre?  Come on…

And, I have one more secret I want to mention to you:  Now, I know its kind of not politically correct to talk about…hunting.  But, if you are a hunter…this area offers INCREDIBLE Mule Deer Bow hunting opportunities!  Plus White tail, plus Moose, plus Elk…ok there I said it.  But honestly the hunting is fantastic.  And, well, of course there are beautiful fly fishing lakes out the back door as well.  And, if you like mountain biking…out the back door…Come on, surely you noticed by now I have not even mentioned Okanagan Lake yet? Or the winter skiing?

Why does a Realtor bother to spend money advertising at the South Okanagan Events Center?

Well, for starters, the 4×6 BACKLIT sign on the concourse level is very well positioned and definitely attracts a lot of eyeballs!  Also, there are NO OTHER Real Estate advertisers doing it!  The promotions work very well because they are targeted, and because of the huge number of open doors that the affiliation has created.  For example, it was great to be the only such Real Estate advertiser during the event broadcast nationally and attracting NHL calibre interest for the Young Guns Tournament.  And also to attend the BC Hockey Hall of Fame Dinner and further, to be advertising during big name Concerts that draw attendance from the region…

Now, how about the opportunities created when we are also then able to sponsor a night with the Vees?  That was an amazing marketing outcome, including media attention to our effort before the game and subsequent!  PLUS, the social media play was huge for this as well, including contact with people from the visiting team’s area!

So, when I can do just like every other Realtor and advertise a small black and white (or maybe color) ad in a print copy insert of a local newspaper…well, there just truly is no comparison.  In today’s world of Real Estate, there just has never been a worse time to do the same tired old things!  Not when there are other ways to go about your work that create so much more positive results and spinoffs like this kind of effort.

And that is why a Realtor bothers to spend money advertising at the South Okanagan Events Center!
