Ogopogo Bathtub Race

This year the first annual Ogopogo Bathtub Race was held. This event consists of people entering boats that are made out of a bathtub and racing them 24 kilometers. The raced started and finished at the Summerland Yacht Club,  but the racers had to go all the way to Penticton and back. Remax Orchard Country had a very successful first year placing first in the A class thanks to their skipper Mike Stohler. This event is a continuing fundraising effort for the new Penticton Regional Hospital Tower Project. This year they managed to raise $18 444, exceeding their goal of raising $15 000 for the Medical Foundation.
